Pedestrian Killed In Rt. 50 Crash (Update)

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Thursday, July 27 in Loudoun County.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. near John Mosby Highway (Rt. 50) and Pleasant Valley Road in Chantilly, the sheriff's office said.

A man was pronounced deceased on the scene, and the driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

The name of the pedestrian was not being released, pending next of kin notification. Additional information will be provided as appropriate.

The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call Investigator M. Lotz at 703-771-1021.
